What are the types of benefits covered under workers’ compensation?

Under workers’ compensation, an injured employee is entitled to four kinds of benefits:

Weekly compensation benefit: It is given to compensate an injured victim for wages lost while the injury or illness makes it impossible for them to work.

Permanent impairment benefit: It is awarded when an injury causes a permanent physical impairment.

Medical treatment benefit: An injured victim is entitled to receive medical benefit workers’ compensation, such as, hospital and medical expenses.

Vocational rehabilitation benefit: If a victim is unable to return to their previous line of work, the workers’ compensation insurer must pay for retraining so that the victim may be able to join into a new line of work.
